Week 3 Bets and PIcks

Ok so i hit a snag with the bets, but doing well with the picks. so with that being said lets go on to the picks.

Favorite in CAPS

PITTSBURGH -4.5 @ Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh has looked shaky, bengals have not looked much better, cincy is going to be real pumped up for this one. they will keep it close in the first half, pitt dominates the second half and wins by 10.

My Pick Pitt - 4.5

WASHINGTON -6.5@ Detroit

Washington looked pathetic, if the lions cant beat them at home who can they beat. Portis being questionable puts this in the lions favor, im not saying lions win but i do think they do not lose by more than 6.

My Pick Lions - 6.5

GREEN BAY -6.5 @ St. Louis

Three straight road favorites, that is scary. Green bay looked shaky, which can be said about almost every NFL team, but they can score a ton, and put them on the turf and they will outscore the rams.

My PIck GB -6.5

San Fran @ MINNESOTA - 7.5

Both teams getting early hype, neither has played anyone that good. Its going to come down to how well they can run on minney, Shaun hill does nothing but win, he is 9-3 or something like that as a starter. I see this being a close game, I think SF has a lot more to prove, last time AP played SF he had 3 yards on 14 carries or something crazy like that. Minnesota wins a close one

My Pick SF +6.5

Atlanta @ NEW ENGLAND - 4.5

The pats have lost back to back games once since 2003, I feel there will be a lot of pressure on ryan, coming back to boston, people begging for tickets. I see him being distracted big time. If welker and moss do not play then a whole nother story.

My PIck Pats -4.5

Tennessee @ NY JETS - 2.5

Titans really need this one, jets are on top of the world and they come down a bit here. Jets gave the titans their first loss last year, payback time !

My Pick Titans +2.5

Kansas City @ PHILLY -9.5
without mcnabb favored by 9.5, i just dont see it. vick will be a distraction. KC is terrible though, i could see this going either way actually.

My Pick KC +9.5

NY GIANTS -7.5 @ Tampa Bay

I dont see the giants as the best team like everyone else does but tampa is trash.

My PIcks Giants - 7.5

Cleveland @ BALTIMORE - 13.5

I see this as one of those games that are not as close as the score says, brownies score late to make this a 13 point game barely getting a backdoor cover.

My Pick Cleveland + 13.5

Jacksonville @ HOUSTON - 3.5

which houston team will show? i see this being somewhat of a shootout. Houston wins by 10 ish.

My Pick Houston - 3.5

CHICAGO @ Seattle +2.5

I dont see the bears good enough to give points on the road, but without hasselbeck i dont see the seahawks winning bears score late to cover

My PIck Bears - 2.5

SAINTS @ Bills +5.5

Bills are frisky, i think they will be pumped up to play the saints but that wont be enough, it will be close but saints win by a td.

My Pick Saints -5.5

Denver @ OAKLAND - 1.5

This week's toilet bowl, no one should watch this game, Oakland's D will dominate very low scoring game here. Oakland wins by 3

My Pick Oakland - 1.5

Miami @ SAN DIEGO - 5.5

I see miami staying in this game, the chargers are not that good.

My Pick Miami +5.5

Colts @ ARIZONA -1.5
I see this game and it screams shootout, the colts are getting points which is odd, they put up 20 plus points on the road in less than 15 mins of game play.

My PIck Colts +1.5

Carolina @ DALLAS -9.5

Both teams need a big bounce back, Dallas wins but not by a lot.

My Pick Carolina +9.5

Last week 11-5

Overall 22-10 68.75% winning percentage.

Gotta redeem myself,

Giants -.5 6 point tease, Packers -.5

I hate the Children International People

If i had to make a Mt. Rushmore of people i despise it would have to be Alex Trebek, Rachel Nicholes, The Children International people and the forth person has yet to be decided.

For those who dont know the Children International people, ( CI) to make it easier, are the stoner hippies that are in the blue vests/overall that stand on every major street corner in Boston and harass you to no end. They stick their hand out to be shaken and then they try and lure you in for a 30 minute conversation. No matter if you are on the phone, or have headphones they will still try and get you. When i am walking outside i usually have headphones in, and when i walk by them they start their whole "how are you" ( i know right how dare them) and try and get me to talk to them, I either just ignore them completely or just point to my headphones as walk on by. They can tell by my face that i mean business, but for some people who actually say sorry i cant now, they take that as an invitation to do the whole walk backwards and try and convince the person to sponsor a child or some shit they are talking about i dont know because i refuse to listen. One day i might let them go through their whole spiel just to not say a word at the end and just walk away, actually i am going to do that next time i have time to waste. The people that are doing it too are the problem they are all under 22, and i bet half of them are doing this for probation reasons for getting busted for growing their own weed or something. They all have the scruffy beard and dreads. I really want to know their success rate. They do not know the concept of spacing because as soon as you dispatch on vulture there is another one 20 feet ahead. I really hope one of them while walking backwards to get the person who just left their job which they prolly hate, i want them to trip and fall and all their little pampleths go everywhere, i would laugh for days. God these people really get under my skin, and if they accepted a no once in awhile then i wouldnt get so mad, and listen up if someone is on the phone or headphones, do you really expect them to stop just for you ???? think about it you bunch of F*$ktarts.

I dont want to get into the smug bastard known as Alex Trebek or the most annoying sports reporter Rachel Nichols, my blood is already boiled enough from the stupid CI people, plus i gotta think about a 4th for my mt. rushmore of hatred.

Form that into a question alex you ASSHOLE.

Week 2 Bets & Picks

We're back for another redention of my picks/bets, I am going to back in the black this week i can feel it. That being said there are some tough matchups, Vegas always over reacts after week 1 so with these spreads i can see myself doing a lot of underdogs.

Favorite in CAPS

Carolina @ ATLANTA -6.5
I really like atlanta in this one, both teams are going to try and run the ball all day long so i would look towards the under. I could see this game being 21-13 atlanta

My pick Atl - 6.5

MINNESOTA @ Detroit +9.5

The lions were a spunky bunch down in the bayou, they were driving late to almost cover with a backdoor garbage TD, but they are playing a much better defense, that being said 9.5 is an aweful lot of points for a road team, I see the lions being all pumped up in the first half, but the vikings will get their shit together in the second half and score late to cover the 9.5

My PIck Minnesota - 9.5

Cincinnati @ GREEN BAY -9.5

This has all the makings of a shootout which means it will probably be a 13-10 final, but i do see a high scoring game. Green Bay has the better D though and they will make 1 more stop than Cin, and The pack cover

My PIck Green Bay - 9.5

Houston @ TENNESEE -7.5

I can not quite jump off their bandwagon just yet, they did play the titans pretty well last year, i can see the titans winning a squeaker but i see the texans covering

My Pick Texans + 7.5

Oakland @ KANSAS CITY - 3.5

KC played well against Balt well, Oak played SD well and now SD is playing BALT wierd, anyway, i can't see a winner here, so when in doubt go with the points

My Pick Oakland +3.5

NEW ENGLAND @ Ny Jets - 5.5

The homer in me really wants to pick the Pats here. but they didnt look right and the jets looked good. These games are usually close when played in new york, I see the pats winning but not by a lot. Hope i get this wrong

My Pick NY Jets + 5.5

New Orleans @ PHILADELPHIA -1.5

I dont see why the eagles are favored here, especially if mcnabb is out, I know the saints are not the best road team but i see them getting it done. Saints big here

My PIck New Orleans + 1.5

St Louis @ WASHINGTON - 10.5

Washington and St Louis both looked like trash last week, so when in doubt go with the points

My Pick St Louis +10.5

Arizona @ JACKSONVILLE - 3.5

Arizona never travels well to the east coast, jacksonville is not that good either though, but i can see them winning by 4

My Pick Jacksonville -3.5

Tampa Bay @ BUFFALO -4.5

I loved the way the bills ran the no huddle but they cant seem to close out games which sucks when you are giving points. but i do see them bouncing back at home, if this was december it would be a lock.

My PIck Buffalo -4.5

PITTSBURGH @ Chicago +2.5

I dont see why this line is so small, i see pitt winning big

My Pick Pitt -2.5

Cleveland @ DENVER -3.5

this game sucks on so many levels, but denver usually plays well in the beginning of the year, i hate this game it better not be on TV

My Pick Denver - 3.5

Baltimore @ SAN DIEGO - 4.5

Baltimore looked better last week then the chargers, the chargers have a lot of injuries. Baltimore wins by at least 5

My PIck Baltimore +4.5

New York Giants @ DALLAS - 2.5

Romo has never lost to the giants in the regular season so that is why im picking them

My PIck Dallas -2.5

MONDAY

INDIANAPOLIS @ Miami + 3.5

Miami is junk nuff said

My Pick Indy -3.5

Now on to the good stuff. Last week you would be down 59 dollars or so . this week we gotta re-deposit a little but here we go

Week 1 Results

Week 1 Results

It’s the beginning of the year so you can’t expect to be 100 % right, If you followed me you would be currently down money but not a lot, thanks a lot Houston. But stick with me because you will be up at the end of the year I guaRANtee it.

Thursday Game Tennesee @ Pittsburgh. My pick Pittsburgh -5.5. Final Score 13-10 Pitt.

My prediction Ever since the NFL has had this Thursday night game for the champ first one being 2003 pats vs. raiders, the home team defending champ has won, and I haven’t looked it up but I think they all covered too, there is just too much emotions and stuff flowing through the stadium to take the road dog. Tennessee stomped on the towel last year which could cause bad blood. This should a great physical game; this has low scoring written all over it. Big Ben will have to throw the ball as they won’t be able to run on the titans”

The result was, it was a low scoring game and Big Ben had to throw like I said but they couldn’t quite cover. The streak for the champs winning continued, next year ill be picking the Champ again most likely. Pittsburgh can not run the ball.

Sunday:

My pick Atlanta -4.5 vs. Miami Final Score 19-7 Atl

My prediction “Very tough game to call here, I think the home field will be what I ultimately chose though won’t like it that much. Atlanta has to run the ball well to win and I think they do”

Ok so Atlanta did not run the ball well but I did get this game right so back off!! Miami looks pretty mediocre.

My Pick Cincinnati -3.5 vs. Denver Final Score: 12-7 Den

My Prediction : Denver never travels well to the east in the beginning of the year, I think the Bengals are getting Denver at a perfect time, there will be a lot of buzz this year for the Bengals, I don’t really know why but I think they pull this one off.

I was not way off here, I was right to question the buzz around the Bengals, the game as we all know had a crazy ending, but without that I still don’t cover so didn’t really make much of a difference.

My Pick Minnesota – 3.5 vs. Cleveland Final Score: 34-20 Minn

My Prediction: Brett vs. Mangini doesn’t seem to be getting any hype probably because favre is too busy trying to iron his wranglers to notice. This is the perfect team for Minnesota to open up against; they should be able to run the ball all over Cleveland.

I LOVED Minnesota here, as predicted they were able to run all over the browns, they didn’t even need a QB in this game, when you have Adrian Peterson manhandling guys after stopping mid run to throw someone around then continue, and then it is fair to say you can run all over them.

My Pick Jacksonville +6.5 vs. Indianapolis Final Score 14-12 Indy

My Prediction: Indy opened up terrible last year and probably learned their lesson, but Jacksonville seems to have their number, no bob sanders means a big day for my boy MJD. I think the colts pull off the victory but it’s going to be close.

I was pretty close here; my boy MJD did have a big game. Peyton came out good, but the team didn’t look that impressive. As usual these two teams play close games.

My Pick New Orleans -11.5 vs. Detroit Final Score 45-27 NO

My Prediction: This seems to be everyone's lock of the day, almost to the point where I don’t like it anymore because everyone likes it so much, but in the end its going to be a track meet, with Stafford starting his first game I don’t see them covering, barring a backdoor cover by a garbage TD I see saints rolling. It was a track meet,

there was almost a backdoor garbage TD (sorry John), this game was not as much of a blowout as the score, Det stayed in it for a while into this game, but brees’ 5th and 6th TD seem to do the trick.

My Pick Dallas -3.5 @ Tampa Bay Final Score: 34-21 Dallas

My Prediction: This is scaring me that I am picking all favorites. But I really want to pick Tampa here but I am having trouble convincing myself of doing so. I can see this being a low scoring game. But Tampa just fired their off cord. Vegas gives home teams 3 points so Vegas is saying Dallas is .5 better than TB, I think they can win by 5.

Ok didn’t see as much of a win as it was but I was way off on the low scoring part of my perdition. Good thing I didn’t go with my original thought and went with Tampa. Romo rolled, he is basically the A-Rod of football, and he can put up great numbers in September but then is non existent in December.

My Pick Philly +.5 vs. Carolina Final Score 38-10 Philly

My Prediction: Probably the toughest game of the week to pick, Jonathan Stewart is probably not going to be 100%, Philly is getting a lot of buzz around them, and I hate both coaches. I think Carolina comes off slow to start and Philly pulls it out.

I feel dumb looking back at this and saying this was the toughest game to call. I did not see an absolute blowout coming. Carolina did obviously come out to a slow start here, and are calling for their coach and their starting QBs head, never a good sign for a team that is expected to make some noise in the playoffs.

My Pick Baltimore -8.5 vs. Kansas City Final Score 38-24 Baltimore

My Prediction: I love Baltimore to win but there is a spread so the only problem is I know KC won’t score much but can Baltimore score enough to cover. I think they do and this game ends up being 23-3 or something along those lines.

Couldn’t be further off on anything except the predition, this game was close through out and two late scores allowed Baltimore to cover, a cassell less chiefs played pretty well through the air. Baltimore may have been looking ahead to San Diego in week 2.

My Pick Houston – 4.5 vs. NY Jets Final Score 24-7 Jets

My Prediction Sanchez in his first start combined with the jets D vs. the good/great O of the Texans makes this game a very intriguing matchup, I love the fact that Houston is home, there is just too much fire power to not win by 5.

The only thing I got right was the fact that Sanchez was indeed starting his first NFL game; I broke both ankles jumping off the Texans bandwagon. Houston did not expose any of their so called fire power; historically they struggle against 3-4 Defenses, something to keep in mind down the road. I still see Houston being one of the top offenses at the end of the year though.

My Pick Washington +6.5 vs. NY Giants Final Score 23-17 NYG

My Prediction: I think this is too high, these division games usually don’t end in blowouts; I think the giants will win but a late score from Washington prevents a cover from the g-men.

Finally, I couldn’t have gotten this more right, played out exactly as I thought it would.

My Pick Seattle -7.5 vs. St. Louis Final Score 28-0 Seattle

My Prediction: I love Seattle in this game, I think they will throw a lot this year and they can throw all over the rams

That about sums it up right there.

My Pick SF +6.5 vs. Arizona Final Score 20-16 SF

My Prediction: I have no idea which Arizona team will show up to play this game, the fact that is at Arizona helps, wonder if they can shake off the super bowl loss. Shaun Hill can put up points as well. I see the 49ers covering.

Well the crappy Arizona decided to show up. Warner looked old, and they were playing like the super bowl was the night before.

My Pick GB – 3.5 vs. Chicago Final Score 21-15 GB

My Prediction: Great classic game here, very tough to call, last year the bears went into the high powered indy and smoked them. Can they catch lightning again this year in week 1 I don’t think so.

Correct they did not catch lightning really the only catching going on for the bears was the GB DBs catching all of Jay’s passes. This game should have been a bigger blowout with the bears having so many turnovers.

My Pick Pats – 10.5 vs. Buffalo Final Score 25-24

My Prediction: I gotta count on a bill belichick FU td to cover this; I don’t see buffalo staying with the pats in this game, if there is good weather this has all the makings of a blowout.

Truth be told I needed more than 1 FU td to cover this, they were real lucky to win this game. Very exciting game to watch. Reminded me of the Baltimore and Philly games from 2007. But I was way off on my predictions, Brady looked shaky but sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

My Pick San Diego -6.5 vs. Oakland Final Score 24-20 SD

My Prediction Oakland seems to be on national TV every week 1 and seemed to get smoked every time, San Diego puts up a ton of points here and wins by 24.

That is painful to read as SD needed a touchdown with 18 seconds left to beat them. Oakland showed up to play, so did my boy Richard Seymour.

Long Overdue Rants

With the football season arriving i have had little time to do any of my blog posts about anything but the contrary, but I now have time to do one so here it goes.

I am a man of the people, and with that being the case i am going to teach the public a lesson, especially those of you who work in the city. listen carefully, if an escalator is wide enough for two people to stand on the same step, then the right side is for standers and the left side is for walking. I dont understand why people can not figure this out, most can, in the mornings most of the esclators are ran correctly, but whenever someone stands of the left side people will walk up until they get to the road block, but no one ever has the guts to say anything, i usually use the stairs and i watch for this, the people behind them usually look so mad, some times flair their arms in the air, but i have yet to hear anyone say a thing.

Another thing i hate is when people stand infront of the gate at the T station to get their card out of their wallet and or purse, is it really that hard to stand off to the side until you can locate the card that apparently surprised you that you needed to use, most of the people have to use it every single day, but yet wait until the last possible second to get it out. Would it kill you to get it out while taking the last 10 steps to get into the station. I hate when the person is on the phone, so she does this number, she puts a knee up plops her giant suitcase sized purse down and goes through it.

I almost saw a fight on the T, someone got up because they thought it was their stop, then they realized it wasnt but when they got back to their seat, it was taken. and the woman basically yelled at the other one saying it was her seat, IMHO i think once u get up then you lose it. like the old saying goes, move your feet lose your seat. it was pretty entertaining. It is amazing when people realize there is a seat open, they get tunnel vision, and bump whatever is in the way to get it. Its funny sometimes when a seat has water or something and at everystop someone walks to it all happy thinking they are going to get a seat and realize there is a problem with it, its as if their puppy was just shot in front of their eyes or something.

Stay tuned for my week 2 bets and picks, if you followed me last week you would have gone 1-2 in the bets and would be down 40 dollars, but stick with me. Ill bring you back into the black with frociety

NFL Preview Edition

I gotta do my little NFL Preview spiel, I'm gonna go through each of the divisions and then pick, super bowl contestants and mvps and defensive player of the year. At the end of the year you can either laugh at me or marvel at my wisdom.

AFC East
Pretty simple division to pick assuming no Brady injury again

1. New England (13-3) It's going to be hard for them to overcome all these changes but looking at their schedule I can only possibly see them losing to Indy, New Orleans, Houston (because its the last game of the season and they might rest their players). Love the O, the D might struggle at first but I see them coming into form.

2. Miami - The were not as good as their schedule last year, they got an easy schedule and this year it is not as appealing, but then again they did not lose many of their players and they should play the pats tough like they usually do, except for the time we went down to miami to see the pats put up 42 by halftime.

3. New York Jets - Their D and their running game is going to have to carry them this year. Rookie QB's usually do not pan out that well. Sanchez had a lot less college playing time than roethlisberger, flacco and ryan.

4 Buffalo- They are used to being in the bottom of the division, sorry wendy, but terrible offensive line and swiss cheese D will be their downfall, although their special teams are very solid.

AFC South - Prolly the hardest to pick, all 4 teams are talented.

1. Indianapolis - Their O is still solid, they are going to half to outscore some teams to win games, which could come not so easy against the texans.

2. Houston - I know they are everyone's darling picks, I know they can score, but their D is going to be a lot better than people think, they got a top flight lineman, Williams, a top flight LB Ryans and a top flight DB in Robinson they will be a solid enough D to win some games. Could challenge Indy for the division crown.

3. Tennessee - I think the have the typical fall back year, They wil once again be a tough D but their offensive isnt very good. They lost their best player in haynesworth, they did not fill their biggest need in WR

4- Jacksonville - I think they will be the best 4th place team in football. They will be very similar to Tennesee, good D, great running game, but not able to score enough to keep in contention in this division.

AFC North

1. Pittsburgh - Lost basically nobody from their SuperBowl winning team so you can't really say anything bad about them, their offensive line is borderline terrible but their D will more than make up for it. Speaking of offensive line Big Ben is looking like one himself.

2. Baltimore- you could take the Titans and Ravens and switch uniforms and no one will know the difference.

3. Cincinnatti - Getting a lot of sleeper buzz probably from Hard Knocks, I do think their D will be a lot better, but 4 games vs baltimore and pitt will be their downfall.

4. Cleveland- got nothing good to say about them.

AFC West

1. San Diego - Far and away the best team in this division, they should cruise to a spotless division record, which might take homefield throughout for the AFC but they are not good enough to beat Pitt or the Pats.

2. Denver- Such a joke team who is in such turmoil

3. Oakland- See Denver

4. Kansas City - see above.

AFC Winner I see it coming down to New England vs. Pittsburgh and the game will be decided on injuries and weather, if its a blizzard i see Pitt winning if not i see NE winning, these two teams are batteling for team of the decade.

New England in the Super Bowl

NFC East

1. Philadelphia - I dont really like this pick but they do have a strong overall team, every team in this divison will kill each other

2. NY Giants - Their D is going to carry them all year

3. Dallas - they will collapse in december like they do every year

4. Washington - good team, tough draw with their division

NFC North- Very tough division to call

1. Green Bay- I like their team, full of young talent.

2, Minnesota- They will go as far as brett's arm will take them, they are a pretty balanced team overall if brett can play well

3. Chicago- very tough team to predict, could be 1-4 in this division hard to tell

4. Detroit - Will show some improvement and by improvement i mean 3 wins tops.

NFC South-

1. Carolina- Solid team non sexy though, as long as Jake can stay upright they will make the playoffs no problem.

2. New Orleans- They will need to outscore any good team to have a good record, will be in a lot of shootouts, really needs homefield advantage to do well.

3. Atlanta - I see them coming back to earth a little bit could see them finishing second

4. Tampa Bay - Coaching Turmoil already not gonna be a good season

NFC West- THe worst division in football

1. Seattle - They had a ton of injuries last year so no one is picking them, i see the returning to the top of this shitty division where they belong-

2. Arizona - the post super bowl lose seems to be accurate and i dont see it changing this year

3. SF 49ers - look up mediocre and you will see this teams logo

4 St. Louis - they will pick top 3 again next year.

NFC - I do not see a clear cut winner to come out of this confrence so ill go out on a limb and say the Vikings,

SB- Pats will beat the Vikings a lot to a little.

MVP- Adrian Peterson

Defensive player of the year- Demeco Ryans

Am I a Jinx

just after I posted my draft analysis ( which I did on Thursday) posted today praising Richard Seymour' he goes and gets traded. I wish the pick was next year, I have a feeling Oakland is on a slow upclimb so this pick could be only middle one as opposed to top ten which will be their pick next year. I do like the trade. Seymour is injury prone but is still is a great player when healthy. He demands double teams. this trade leads me to believe that big daddy Vince is going to get signed we all knew they could not afford both and he is 4 years younger than Seymour so if he gets re-inked then I like it. Myron pryor who slipped in the draft due to off the field issues could be a reason for this he looks to be a solid player. Seymour will be missed from a leadership standpoint as he was voted captain for the last 7 years or so.

the idea of jinxes is kinda funny it's weird to see full grown men sit in the same spot for games because they think it is good luck. and I can't deny the fact that I have done similar things. there are stories where guys won't wash jocks or socks while on winning streaks for
me it was just laziness. I do not like to mention injuries to risk jinxing said player. I'm sure there are psycology reasons behind these things but I'm not sure I want to know them, just like every dream is supposed to have a meaning, but do u really want to
knows what it is supposed to mean? I am writing this while on the red line on my way home to pick up my car which has become such a money pit lately. at least my uncle is the one doing the repIrs
so he won't try and screw me. I hate machanics they can tell you anything and most people believe it. if you know one or are related to one make sure you do not piss them off. they can be so valuable between that and working at a college so your kids can attend for free, do both those and you will be set for life. a c babe just got on with a grocery bag and it hit my knee while she walked by and she did not apologize. why can they not ride a T or a bus without a grocery bag. there is one jerk who ia kind of laying down taking up 3 seats. what is the proper coarse of action here you can tell him to move right? well you should but no one will ask him they will stand up like sheep. I was already sitting when he got on otherwise I would. the best part is that he is sleeping so not only can u wake him u can get him to move.

the t is almost in Braintree so I'll end this disregard typos

Belichick's Draft Classes

Lately on WEEI there has been talk of Belichick is getting credit for being a little over-hyped when it comes to draft picks, so i decided to go through his draft picks since he came to New England, keep in mind that Scott Pioli should get just as much credit as Belichick. I didnt look up actual stats all of this is straight from the dome.

2000
Round 2 Adrian Klemm - Hawaii - Serviceable offensive lineman that was a starter for a little while but then became a backup for a couple of years then left the team, Basically he was Russ Hochstein before Russ Hochstein was Russ Hochstien
Round 3 J.R. Redmon - Arizona State - A typical third down back, best known for his role in the final drive in the Super Bowl against St. Louis, he caught a couple key passes out of the backfield and got his ass out of bounds. Did very little besides that but you can’t knock him for what he did. Between him and chunky wiggins the Pats probably do not win that game.
Round 4 Greg Robinson-Randall - Michigan State - He was a starter on the Super Bowl Winning Team so I guess you can not call him a bust, not a terrible player but not a great one.
Round 5 David Stachelski - Boise State - Tight End of Boise State that I have no idea who he is.
Round 5 Jeff Marriott - Missouri - Ditto for this guy
Round 6 Antwan Harris - Virginia - Not a bad DB
Round 6 Tom Brady - Michigan - Nothing needs to be said really, great pick in the long run.
Round 6 David Nugent - Purdue - Did nothing in the league
Round 7 Casey Tisdale - New Mexico - Did nothing in the league
Round 7 Patrick Pass - Georgia - One of my personal favorite Pats of all time, this pass catching fullback was your typical versatile Belichick player. Always seemed to come up with a huge play when needed.

Overall- can’t call this class a bad class since you got Tom Brady, Besides Pass not very much long term value out of a lot of these players.

2001
Round 1 Richard Seymour - Georgia - Pats Traded up to get him, and have not looked back since, this is one of the most highly respected players in the league, constant double teams but still voted all-pro by his peers.
Round 2 Matt Light - Purdue - Was put at left tackle and has held onto the job ever since, solid tackle who can hold his own against most players, really struggles against the elite pass rushers, ie Jason Taylor and Dwight Freeney.
Round 3 Brock Williams - Notre Dame - This DB does not ring a bell at all
Round 4 Kenyatta Jones - South Florida - Offensive Lineman who was a backup
Round 4 Jabari Holloway - Notre Dame - Tight End who was a good blocker didn't last too long on this team
Round 5 Hakim Akbar - Washington - No name linebacker
Round 6 Arthur Love - South Carolina State - Tight end who never panned out
Round 6 Leonard Myers - Miami - DB didn't make an impact on this team
Round 7 Owen Pochman - BYU - Kicker who got some playing time on other teams, was not good enough to challenge Adam at the time but was a starter in this league.
Round 7 TJ Turner - Michigan State - Seventh round linebacker who never amounted to much.

Overall- This draft started off amazing with two players who have been key cogs in the offensive and defensive lines ever since, but after round 2 this draft goes downhill pretty damn fast.

2002

Round 1 Daniel Graham - Colorado - Great blocking Tight End, who could also go out and catch some passes, very productive player who played well in his time here then got left when the pats wouldn't pay him what he though he was worth, shocker that the Pats didn't want to pay someone, but in the end hasn’t really done much in Denver.
Round 2 Deion Branch - Louisville - Super Bowl MVP Brady’s first real deep threat he had at this point, very important in the last two Super Bowl victories, like Graham wanted more money and the Pats said no, ever since he left here he has been more fragile than a girl watching a sappy movie.
Round 4 Rohan Davey - LSU - One of Nick Sabens players that Bill loved, a monster arm and body, probably should have been a linebacker, career back-up who seemed to be on every NFL team.
Round 4 Jarvis Green - LSU - Great Pick here, very underrated player ever since he got here, could be a starter on most teams but is a backup here, whenever there is an injury he comes in and the team does not mss a beat. Another Sabin Player.
Round 7 Antwoine Womack - Virginia - Never amounted to much
Round 7 David Givens - Notre Dame - Great value here, a physical specimen, very productive time here and important player playing opposite Branch, like branch wanted more money and ended up signing with the Titans and i think has played 3 plays since.

Very solid draft, got a lot of production out of these players, but besides Green no one is still here or has done anything since leaving here.

2003

Round 1 Ty Warren -Texas A&M - Extreme Talent here, part of arguably best D-lines in football, can be a nose or rush the passer.
Round 2 Eugene Wilson - Illinois - Had great upside coming out of college and started off good, but eventually couldn't adjust to the constant switching back and forth between safety and corner, eventually not re-signed and has been on a few teams since.
Round 2 Bethel Johnson - Texas A&M - one of the first major busts Bill has, they reached up for him, coming out of college he was a cant miss prospect, amazing speed, was supposed to be the next daunte hall. he never got his act together and eventually played himself out of the league.
Round 4 Dan Klecko - Temple - little short fireplug, son of one of the best players in New York Jets history, he was considered the strongest player on the team, more of a hybrid fullback D-Lineman, could never crack the starting lineup, good special teams player, moved to Indy where he has been a great fit for them.
Round 4 Asante Samuel - Central Florida - Very solid DB, one of the best guessers in the league leading to a bunch of pick 6’s, too bad he dropped the one on Eli, otherwise the Pats go 19-0. Got over-hyped as a shutdown corner, but teams threw on him a lot, that is why he got high interception numbers, wanted too much money and moved to philly where he has been ok not great.
Round 5 Dan Koppen - Boston College - Another stud offensive lineman to come out of boston college, great value here, has been the starter ever since including a pro bowl .
Round 6 Kliff Kingsbury - Texas Tech never amounted to much as a back up QB
Round 7 Spencer Nead - Brigham Young - Never Made the Team
Round 7 Tully Banta-Cain - California - Pretty solid back-up linebacker/d lineman who seems to leave and comeback to new england every other week. Good value for the seventh round, once left his super bowl ring in a providence place bathroom.

Overall good class, warren cancels out bethel, got great value with koppen and samuel and cain, cant complain about this draft class.

2004
Round 1 Vince Wilfork - Miami - I remember all the pre-draft rankings had him in the top 10 he slipped until the pats moved up a couple spots to get him, thankfully too. He is an absolute monster and has been the main reason the 3-4 D has worked. Constant double team eater. He will ask for albert hanseworth type money and will probably not be on the team next year sadly.
Round 1 Ben Watson - Georgia Freak of an athlete, had good stretches and bad stretches looks like he is losing his job now a days, very hard to keep on the field.
Round 2 Marquise Hill - LSU- RIP, another sabin player, never got it going until his untimely demise while saving his girlfriend on a jetski accident.
Round 3 Gus Scott - Florida - this was the stretch where the pats secondary was a virtual revolving door, and he was one of the “also rans” nice horse racing term for you there, basically a no name that you shouldn't care about
Round 4 Dexter Reid North Carolina - This Safety had potential, very hard hitter but coudnt cover a guy in a phone booth.
Round 4 Cedric Cobbs - Arkansas - backup running back who never really played well, had a better time on the dolphins
Round 5 P.K. Sam - Florida State - I loved this guys potential, 6 foot 6 was supposed to be the next plaxico burress on the field, but he was more like him off the field, had troubles with the law and everyone questioned his maturity a hell of a talent who never made it sadly.
Round 7 Christian Morton - Illinois - never made it

Overall- pretty disappointing draft class besides vince.

2005
Round 1 Logan Mankins - Fresno St. Pats moved up to get this “cowboy” not afraid to hit you after the whistle, very good player, has been a starter ever since and has made the probowl, I remember he had to buy his first suit ever when he was drafted.
Round 3 Ellis Hobbs - Iowa St. - great athlete not a great cover corner, got burned for the game winning touchdown vs the giants in the superbowl. he got traded and good ridden.
Round 3 Nick Kaczur - Toledo - he has had some off the field issues with drugs, not the best player, has gotten beat by good pass rushers, but good enough to keep his job and just signed a long term deal so hes gotta be doing something right.
Round 4 James Sanders - Fresno St. Was drafted to be the replacement for rodney harrison, but never stepped up enough to take the job away, got lost in the backfield shuffle of the many many pats players to play. earthwind moreland no need to name anymore.
Round 5 Ryan Claridge - Nevada - linebacker who never was able to make the team
Round 7 Matt Cassel - USC - his story is pretty well known
Round 7 Andy Stokes - dont know who he is.

overall- got some good OL in this draft, not the most sexy names but got some productive value.

2006
Round 1 Laurence Maroney - Minnesota - BUST BUST BUST
Round 2 Chad Jackson - Florida - BUST BUST BUST
Round 3 David Thomas - Texas- They keep drafting Tight Ends so Thomas isnt winning anyone over, much better blocker than a pass catcher.
Round 4 Garrett Mills - Tulsa- tight end in college made into fullback, but heath evans was here, so he was shipped out of new england.
Round 4 Stephen Gostkowski - Memphis - considered one of the better kickers in the NFL, had the tough job of replacing a legend, not sure if a 4th round for a kicker can be considered good value.
Round 5 Ryan O’Callaghan - California - a monster of a guy but cant seem to get a starting job
Round 6 Jeremy Mincey - Florida - BUST
Round 6 Dan Stevenson - Notre Dame BUST
Round 6 Le Kevin Smith - Nebraska Career Backup
Round 7 Willie Andrews - Baylor - real small shifty guy who is suppsoed to be electic in the kick return game, but has not really showed it.

Overall pretty bad draft class from top to bottom

2007
Round 1 Brandon Meriweather - Miami - looking for big things out of him this year especially with rodney harrison making his way into the commentators booth.
Round 4 Kareem Brown Miami - bust
Round 5 Clint Oldenberg - Colorado- st- never amounted to anything
Round 6 Justin Rodgers - Southern Methodist - no idea who he is
Round 6 Mike Richardson - Notre Dame - corner back that will always be a backup
Round 6 Justise Hairston - Central Connecticut - never hear from him
Round 6 Corey Hillard - Oklahoma - ditto
Round 7 Oscar Lua - USC- ditto
Round 7 Mike Elgin - Iowa ditto

Overall- second “bad” draft in a row, probably when the rumblings started about his drafting ability, no one is going to always draft well but of the last 2 drafts only one starter besides the K from these players.

2008
Round 1 Jerod Mayo - Tennesee - Defensive Rookie of the year cant complain
Round 2 Terrence Wheatley Colorado - looks to be in the mix for playing time
Round 3 Shawn Crable - Michigan - special team monster
Round 3 Kevin O’Connell San Diego State - got cut by the team so not very good
Round 4 Jonathan Wilhite - Auburn - also in the mix for playing time and knowing the history of pats DB’s plenty of chances
Round 5 Matt Slater - UCLA - Supposed to be great kickoff guy but hasnt showed anything
Round 6 Bo Ruud - Nebraska- never will crack the lineup

Overall - hard to judge especially with mayo, but we’ll see in a couple of years if this class is any good.

So in the end, he has been able to draft a lot of the teams starters, just a handul of total busts, but a bunch of players you never hear from which i am assumng is the norm for most of the teams. He definatly had a better track record towards the beginning of the decade, overall i would say a pretty good drafter, i usually follow the draft and he never seems to take the guy you think he will, and he usually seems to find these guys out of the blue who can preform very well.

Moving Day

Happy 91st Birthday Dita, like she is going to read this, anyway moving on.....

Kate had asked for a blog post about our moving experiences and moving in general in boston so here you go:

I havent been able to do a lot on here becasue we have not gotten our internet yet at the new place. Speaking of the new place all along pamps had told me that it was a 3rd floor apartment, we get there and its actually on the 4th floor, thanks a lot pampers. Speaking of getting there there was soooo much traffin on 9-1, it took almost 90 mins for me to drive from downtown to 55 mons then go to the new place. and it was less than a mile from the old place to the new place. Thanks a lot to kelly, katie and wendy for all your help.

While at kellys place on 8-31, her apartment complex has 4 dumpersters lined up next to each other and there was 5 people digging through them at 1230 at night. It is a scavengers heaven. They must look forward to this day like a puppy waiting at the table waiting for scraps to fall. They must immediate circle 9-1 on a calander when they buy one for the year. We had a guy who kept coming to our house through out the month of august while we were moving out, and shamps asked him what he was doing and he admitted to taking the stuff and selling it online. Who goes online to buy a scrapped up bookshelf that someone got on the side of the road to save a few bucks. We would literally put something on the street and it would be gone within minutes. I think that if something is out there it is probably for a reason, then why would you risk getting a broken shelf. All the sidewalks throughout the city were abolutly covered with stuff, even trash bags filled with clothes that you can tell someone rummaged through to see if they could scrounge out an outfit, imagen you threw away something and see someone wearing that a week later could be kind of awkward.

The move it self wasnt bad, besides the 4 floors, there are some minor things wrong with it but nothing too bad.

Look for some themed nfl blogs coming up since the season is a week from today!!!!!!!
